Their two weeks time was very important for us and their volunteering work is useful and supportive. We are still hoping they will come Nepal again and support more.

We the team of Volnepal would like to thanks lot for providing us their time, and their donation.

Haewon Choi Experience:
The two weeks staying in Nepal was incredibly exciting for me. The programme in the hostel and hospital together was well organized, and the organizers helped me a lot. Every time that I have spent here was valuable and enjoyable. Furthermore, the organization, Volnepal it self is also nicely organized. The people around me was always helpful and ready for help at any time, any place.

Working in a hospital during the day time and working in the orphanage home in the evening made me a little bit tired at first. But, as soon as I got used to that, the working in Nepal became very interesting to me. First, the work in the hospital as an intern was a ‘whole new world’ for me. The well organized cooperation between Volnepal and the Alka Hospital made me easier to settle down. Observing a lot of cases in the General Ward and Emergency Room, I could learn much of practical knowledge. Also, the practical experience made me to go a step forward towards my dream.

Secondly, the work in the orphanage taught me how to react with the children. Before this experience, I had never worked with so many children. I was used to handle one or two little toddlers, but not 17 of them. But after this experience, I had become a good ‘sister’ to the children, so that I could be the ‘sister’ to the others as well. Also, when making the library with Jeong Eun, the progress itself was very demanding and difficult, and we wanted to take a rest every second. However, when the kids got back from their school, we heard them screaming by amazement. At that point, we were kind of very proud of ourselves. By spending the time with the children, I learned how the kids wanted the love, attention from the adults. That made me a lot sad, but I hope they grow up well, so that we can meet again, sometime in the future.

Jeong Eun Experience:
It was very interesting and exiting. I enjoyed my time and earned a lot of valuable experience. The whole journey was nicely organized. There were always people around me who were ready to help. Due to this help I could concentrate on my project here in Fresh Nepal. I was also amazed to realize how big the organization is and how they use their donations efficient as possible.

First everything was strange and new. But I could live in the new culture. I learned that people in Nepal is so much different than the people in my country. However, there were also many similarities. So, I realized that even though we live in the different life style or in the different surroundings, after all we are all human. It was also interesting to see that people in Nepal were very sensitive of the racism. Quite a lot of them believed that the skin color has an immense effect on their life.

I also learned that they wanted and demanded attention and love from someone else. For me it was overwhelming for the first time, when the children started to fight who is going to hold my hand when we are going to the school. But I tried to teach them that they have to share the things and that they should not hit each other when there am some conflict.

But the children also love each other as well. When a boy hurt a girl by accident, the boy was also crying, since he felt really bad about hurting her. It was also nice how they called the youngest girl, the small sister.
